About this video
Happy 2025!
⚠ This video was recorded from the Times Square Alliance and Countdown Entertainment LLC Countdown Livestream. ⚠
Pictured here is the 116th New Year's Eve Ball Drop in Times Square, New York City, New York. This is uninterrupted footage with no advertisements, News Anchors, TV network reporters, or TV news banners/logos.
This event is sponsored by: KIA Motors America, Planet Fitness, & others.
**Information about the Ball Drop**
The ball seen here is an upgraded version of the centennial ball, which debuted during the 2008–09 drop.
The ball is 12 feet in diameter (double the size of the previous ball) and weighs 11,875 pounds. The ball is covered in over two thousand Waterford Crystals, making it the largest crystal ball in the world.
Following the 2024–25 drop, the ball was retired and subsequently placed on permanent display in a new exhibit inside the 1 Times Square building, allowing visitors to view it year-round.
This video includes the following: Singer Mickey Guyton's rendition of John Lennon's "Imagine," the 110th Mayor of New York City Eric Adams pressing the crystal button that “signals” the ball drop, The Ball Drop, Frank Sinatra's “New York, New York”, Ray Charles’ “America the Beautiful”, Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World” and Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's "Somewhere over the Rainbow".
