About this video
Here's how we made this candlelit scene that we used in our scary lighting video. If you haven't seen it yet, we covered 3 easy one-light setups from horror movies.
Here's a breakdown of the lighting and camera settings:
- Shot at ISO 3200 (dual-native on Sony A7IV), f2.8, SLOG3
- @aputure.lighting MC fire effect at 100% with a grid (3D printed) through some diffusion to soften the light a bit
- Tube lights set to 190 Hue, 100% saturation+intensity
- Color grade: exposure down, hue change on blue, grain+halation. No noise reduction necessary.
Lighting was inspired by a random shot we saw on @shotdeck after searching for candles and scrolling endlessly.
