The FORBIDDEN Waterbending Ability that ONLY Kyoshi Used.
So we’ve discussed that Kyoshi was arguably the strongest Avatar to have ever lived, but did you know that this was due to her having one of strongest waterbending abilities ever, an ability that would eventually become a forbidden bending technique. You see at one point in her life she was not believed to be the Avatar, instead it was believed to be a man named Yun. In fact Kyoshi was believed to be nothing more than Yun’s personal maid at that time. Later after Kyoshi was found to be the avatar Yun became angry and eventually tried to kill everyone including Kyoshi. During Yun’s battle with Kyoshi, he managed to kill and injure many of her allies. In the end Kyoshi apologized to Yun for his suffering, and then proceeded to turn the blood in his body and even the moisture in the air to ice, subsequently killing one of the two people she loved most. She would then turn to her injured ally and use the hands that had just killed someone to then bring one back from the brink of death. Showcasing her power to both give and take life.
