The Toughest Game We Ever Played: Our Experience with a Hardcore Challenge 🎮

Thinking about the hardest games ever made<br />I consider myself a very loyal souls fan, I love them, I think Dark souls 1 is probably top 5 games ever made, but it honestly annoys me how people act like souls games invented the idea of difficult games, games have been hard long before souls games, for example Lion King on the old Nintendo was crushing, there is that level where i think monkeys throw you to each other that made me stop playing the game , Another one that comes to mind is CLAW, this one was so difficult that they made a cheat code for it, it was hell of fun though.<br /><br />Do not get me wrong, souls games are still quite difficult, I spent ike 3 days trying to be Isshin, and farmed so much healing for my fight VS Vicar Amelia, but some souls like exceed that difficulty IMO, either through good design like Nioh or through crappy design like lords of the fallen or even dark souls 2 itself , but one game i always struggled with is metal gear rising, i found it so difficult doing any combos and kept mashing the regular attack, but this one is probably down to me sucking at hacking and slashing.<br /><br />Lots of examples come to mind, like ninja gaiden 2, or that zelda with the water level in it, Another amazing example is actually cuphead, it is really well made, it is so difficult but somehow so fun and i'd even say it is addictive, One more game i struggled with is XCOM 2 even though i cannot actually pinpoint why .<br /><br />I see people always talk about games like dead cells and hades, but rogue likes are all difficult coz you just go back to the very start, otherwise i think it wont be so bad.<br /><br />I wanna hear what you guys think, what are the most difficult games ever and do you really think that souls games kinda modernized or revolutionized the idea of a difficult game that is still fun as hell??
