ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> <br />STORY: The Rolling Stones appeared on the red carpet Tuesday (November 13) for the U.S. premiere of "Crossfire Hurricane," a documentary charting the meteoric rise to fame and fortune following their debut in London in 1962.<br/> <br />Jagger, who is 69, Richards, fellow guitarist Ronnie Wood and drummer Charlie Watts posed for photographers before speaking to the media on their way into the movie theater in New York.<br/> <br />The band, one of the most successful in rock history and behind songs like "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction," "Honky Tonk Women" and "Angie," is marking its 50th birthday with a greatest hits album, photo book, exhibitions, documentary and gigs.<br/> <br />"I thought we should do a movie, I thought we should do some shows, thought we should do a record and you know, we've done some other things. And so I think most of these goals have been achieved so far and now we only have to do the five shows," said Jagger before explaining how challenging the film was to make.<br/> <br />"Crossfire Hurricane" is drawn entirely from archive footage and attempts to recreate what it was like to be on stage and backstage amid riotous noise and screams of adulation.<br/> <br />Lead guitar player Keith Richards was surprised to see so much archive material.<br/> <br />"I was amazed how much footage there still was back in the old locker, I don't remember the camera man being around then," he said with a laugh.<br/> <br />The Stones will play the O2 Arena in London on November 25 and 29 before crossing the Atlantic to perform at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on December 8th and the Prudential Center, Newark, on December 13 and 15.<br/> <br />The film first broadcasted live by satellite to cinemas from the London Film Festival on October 18. The movie will premiere on HBO on November 15th.
