For over two million years, Northern Africa was home to some of the earliest humans on Earth: hunters, gatherers, herders, and innovators who shaped the course of history long before Egypt’s unification.

This documentary explores the full and complete history of the region from 3,000,000 BCE to 3100 BCE. From early Homo erectus at Tighennif to the symbolic Aterian culture, the Green Sahara’s pastoralists, and the rise of Naqada elites along the Nile, this is the lesser told story of the civilizations that came before the pharaohs.
