For 50 years guitarist Lee Ritenour has been one of the most requested session musicians playing on well over 3,000 records. He's backed some of legendary musical minds in the business including Al Jarreau, B.B. King, Aretha Franklin, Barbara Streisand, Bob James, Carly Simon, Bobby "Blue" Bland, Frank Sinatra, Harvey Mason, Herb Alpert, Johnny Mathis, Minnie Riperton, Natalie Cole, Neil Diamond, Patti Austin, Phil Perry, Quincy Jones, Sonny Rollins, Stanley Turrentine, Steely Dan, Pink Floyd, Will Downing, and endless others. Lee has also been a sidemen and composer of and on many television and film scores like "An Officer and a Gentleman," "American Flyers," "On Trick Pony," "Three Days of Condor," "Starsky and Hutch," and "Charlie's Angels."

Last year marked a monumental feat in Lee's career when he recorded and released "6 String Theory" on Concord Records. The disc is the musician's exploration and passion of the many facets and styles of music played on the guitar. Lee recorded some of the greatest and up-and-coming guitarists and covered country, blues, jazz, rock, soul, and classical genres all on one disc. Guitarists like Slash of Guns and Roses, Pat Martino, John Scofield, George Benson, Keb' Mo, Taj Mahal, B.B. King, Mike Stern, and Neal Schon playing with each other on music that these musicians have given the world musically with their unique gift and playing style.

"6 String Theory" also ties in something else Lee is very passionate about, his affiliation with the 6 String Theory Guitar Competition. Guitarists from all over the world compete for prizes and scholarships from major universities like The Berkley College of Music.
