The One Time Alastor Doesn't Smile in Hazbin Hotel

Did you know this in Hazbin Hotel?

One of alastor’s key traits is that he smiles all the time. Originally this wasn’t always the case. Let me explain.

So throughout the series alastor basically always smiles, with the reasoning being that it hides his true intentions and is quite intimidating.

Originally during the pilot we would’ve seen him not smile.

In early storyboards we see him picking his teeth.

He stares at the ceiling looking quite bored

And in another he examines his staff while angel plays with a yoyo in the background.

Personally im glad it was changed. Alastor suits his smile, and when we see him without it he looks a bit creepy or goofy it’s out of character for him.

It also makes sense that he smiles all the time, especially if you believe the theory that he’s forced to due to his stitch marks.
