Sony 16mm f1.8 G Lens Overview 📸

This is the new @sonyalpha 16mm f1.8 G lens - a fast, compact prime that takes so much of what I love about the 20mm G, and packs it into an even more compact body..

Honestly, it was hard to find anything I really didn’t like about this lens…I guess the distortion was pretty noticeable, but that’s easily corrected in post, and also expected for a lens of this nature. Just note: Lightroom does not have a correction profile for this lens yet, so the still images shown here are not corrected.

It’s also possible the minimum focus distance is closer than what Sony is claiming…in my experience, I was able to get within 2-3 inches.

If you’re looking for a vlogging lens, or you’re a real estate photographer / videographer, this is a really compelling option.

Sony didn’t pay me to make this vid - they didn’t even ask me to. However, they did send me this lens, pre-release, in order to test it out.
