GST Price Cuts Explained in 60 Seconds 🕒: Big Savings on Electronics & Appliances

In Electronics, ACs, TVs above 32”, monitors, projectors and even dish washers will now only have 18% GST instead of 28%, but unfortunately there’s no change for smartphones and laptops.

In auto sector, non-electric Cars less than 1200cc for petrol and 1500cc for diesel, and under 4000mm in length will also have GST reduced from 28 to 18%. And not just that, the bigger expensive cars will also get a bit cheaper because now they’re at 40% GST, which used to be around 48% earlier.

Daily Items like oil, shampoo, soaps, Ghee, Cheese, Bhujia and more are getting a GST cut from 18% to 5%. Plus, normal medicines and Glucometer is also down to 5% only.

Another great change is, Health and Life Insurance now have no GST at all and it also applies to 36 life saving medicines as well as student supplies like pencil, notebooks, maps and more.

The GST on Gyms, Salons, barber shops and yoga centers will also be 5% only.

Lastly, there’s now a 40% slab for luxury and sin items like Luxury Cars, Aerated drinks, and tobacco products.

These changes will roll out from 22nd Sept, so if you are going to make any big purchases that’ll benefit you, wait till then.
