About this video
The Housing Counseling process is explained in this video. If you've missed a mortgage payment or are worried about foreclosure, you may want to consider counseling.
Counseling can be done in person or over the phone, whatever is most convenient for you. In a housing counseling session, you will be asked to fill out a financial worksheet so that a certified counselor can learn about your individual situation.
You will also be asked to provide:
-your income and expenses
-your mortgage lender, interest, balance, and the amount that is delinquent
-2 most recent pay stubs
-tax returns for the last two years
-current bank statement and bills for necessary expenses (utilities and insurance)
-your mortgage statement
-recent statements for all credit cards
-any W2 forms
