About this video

The global cancer burden continues to rise, with 20 million new cases and 9.7 million deaths in 2022 alone. In response, over 120 countries have developed National Cancer Control Plans (NCCPs) to address prevention, treatment, and care.

In this video, we explore the findings of the second global review of NCCPs, conducted by the International Cancer Control Partnership (ICCP), led by UICC and the National Cancer Institute (NCI). This comprehensive review analysed 98 NCCPs and 58 NCD plans from 156 countries, highlighting emerging trends like cancer equity, pandemic preparedness, and alignment with WHO global initiatives such as the Cervical Cancer Elimination Initiative, the Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer, and the Rays of Hope programme.

Discover how these strategic plans are shaping the fight against cancer worldwide and what the future holds for cancer control efforts globally.
