About this video

#shorts #ww2 #wwii
Oscar Francis Perdomo made history as the final American pilot to earn ace in a day status during World War Two. Flying a P-47N Thunderbolt with the 507th Fighter Group on August 13, 1945, he scored five victories in a single mission over Korea. His long-range Thunderbolt was designed for deep Pacific operations, and Perdomo’s skill and timing came during the last hours before Japan’s surrender. His achievement remains one of the closing chapters of the air war.
