Over 70 years of brain research shows us that mapping the sounds in words is what will help us to become proficient readers and writers.

Instead of memorizing words they need to spell with the phonics pattern that was taught.

Orthographic mapping will help your child to read words with those patterns. Mapping (spelling) sounds is what actually turns words into sight words! When we map (write the letter correspondence) the sounds and understand the patterns these words are then placed into the visual part of our brain!
