Whatever happened to the fur coat? It used to be the goal of so many- an achievement that signaled wealth and class. But, for the last few decades the allure of fur seems to have lost its luster. Sure, fur and fur coats are still around, but they're worn mostly in extreme climates or as thrifted items. Not as the icons of the rich that they used to be. So what changed? Environmentalism? Faux fur?
