WWII U.S. Navy Storm Surprise 🌪️

About this video

In December 1944, the United States Third Fleet, under the command of Admiral William Frederick Halsey, was operating east of Luzon, some 480 kilometres or 300 nautical miles from the island, while supporting the reconquest of the Philippines. The fleet was attempting to refuel at sea when the weather began to deteriorate. American meteorological reports were scattered and contradictory, and no one fully appreciated the true magnitude of the danger that was approaching. But then the ocean revealed itself in all its fury: Typhoon Cobra had arrived.
