Happy November y'all! I'm sorry I didn't make a Halloween edit this year; I needed a break after spending three months working on my anniversary special, but I think this video is the next best thing. "The Burbs" is one of my family's favorite movies EVER. We've seen it so many times that we practically quote it every day, so I thought it would be funny to take all the scenes we reference and put it into one video. I know it's not exactly a Halloween movie, but it has enough genuinely spooky moments that I think it qualifies to be one. I mean, just look at that scene of Ray's nightmare! That scared my sisters so bad when they were kids that I'm pretty sure my mom threw away our DVD and didn't get a new one until years later. I heard they're making a TV show based off of this movie with Keke Palmer as the lead, and though I have nothing against her, I have a feeling it's not going to be that good. Hollywood doesn't exactly have a great track record with reboots. The source material of shows like Riverdale, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Nancy Drew, etc. were innocent and lighthearted, and yet they turned them into something dark and inappropriate. It's like writers think everything has to be edgy and controversial now in order to capture people's interest, but that's not true. The original versions of those stories were fine just the way they were, and so is The Burbs. I feel like it would have been way better if they had tried to get Corey Feldman back as the lead because--spoiler alert--the movie kind of ends with Ray (Tom Hanks) passing the torch to Corey's character Ricky, leaving him in charge of protecting the neighborhood. Corey already stole the show with his little side role, so imagine how awesome he would be as the protagonist against a new set of crazy neighbors! But that's none of my business *sips tea.*  Okay, pettiness aside, I hope this gives you guys a good laugh and you're having a peaceful autumn.
