About this video
Offside was an old comedy TV series which aired on BBC One Scotland, focusing on Scottish football. This video was released back in 2002 and as there are very few clips of the show online I thought it would be worth uploading.
The show was presented by Tam Cowan, regularly featuring the impressions of Jonathan Watson in "Only a Wee Excuse" segments. It also featured guests from Scottish football (players, managers, journalists etc) as well as a few famous Scots from outside football. This video is a compilation of the 'best bits' from the early episodes of the series. It also features the famous John Hughes streak during a Mo Johnston interview.
The guests who appear in this video are Tommy Sheridan, Pat Nevin, Hugh Dallas, Owen Coyle, the Proclaimers, Richard Gordon, Jim McLean, Hazel Irvine, Craig Brown, Sandy Clark, Stuart Baxter, Pierre Van Hooijdonk, John Lambie, Alex Salmond, Jimmy Calderwood, Rob MacLean, Eric Black, Neale Cooper, John Hughes, Mixu Paatelainen, Ian St John, Alan McInally, Dave Bowman, Darren Jackson, John Higgins, Sydney Devine, Gordon Dalziel, Murdo MacLeod, Willie Young, Archie Gemmill, Archie MacPherson, Graham Spiers, Graham Roberts, Chic Charnley, Jim White, Jim Duffy, Juliet-Jane Horne (Miss Scotland 2001), Alan Archibald, Gerry Britton, Alan Rough, and Danny Lennon.
Produced by the Comedy Unit, Copyright BBC Scotland.
