You guys loved episode 1 of my ‘recipes that remind me of home’ series where i made karachi biryani, so lets make the ultimate comfort food - dal chawal ! ❤️

Recipe ingredients:

Daal:

3/4 cup moong dal
3/4 cup lal masoor
4 tbsp chana daal
4 tbsp mash daal
Soak in lukewarm water

1/4 cup ghee
1/4 cup oil
1/2 medium onion
1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
2 medium tomatoes

1 tbsp red chilli powder
1 tsp zeera powder
1 tbsp dhania powder
1 tsp haldi
1 chicken cube or salt to taste
Soaked daal
Warm Water 2 1/2 glasses

Tarka:
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup ghee
2 red chilis
1 tsp zeera
2 green chillis
1/2 tsp kashmiri lal mirch powder (optional)

Zeera rice:
4 tbsp oil
1 tbsp zeera
1 tsp black peppercorns (sabut kali mirch)
2-3 cups soaked basmati/sela rice
water to cook the rice
2 chicken cubes
3 green chillis
Dhania to garnish
