About this video
Five months since the Freedom In the Gospel sermon series, we return to witness the baptisms of nineteen new brothers in Christ. These men are inmates in Marshall County Correctional Facility, where they attend Living Waters Baptist Church—a church plant within prison walls. It was here that they first heard the message of the gospel, were confronted with their sin and the promise of salvation, and were brought to repentance and saving faith in Christ. Now, in the waters of baptism, they publicly testify to the regenerating power of the Holy Spirit: that they have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer they who live, but Christ who lives in them (Gal. 2:20).
This is a testament to the sovereign love of Christ through His gospel, which breaks down the dividing wall (Eph. 2:14), and is the power of God to salvation for those who believe (Rom. 1:16). This gospel reaches to the uttermost parts of the earth (Acts 1:8), even to men who, like the Apostle Paul, are imprisoned as criminals—yet the Word of God can never be imprisoned (II Tim. 2:9). Though bound by physical chains and concrete walls, these brothers have been set free by Christ, and they are free indeed (John 8:36).
HeartCry seeks to advance the Great Commission by supporting missionaries, training missionaries, resourcing missionaries, planting churches, and then declaring God's great works to God's people.
