This is the closest scenic drive to Reykjavik that gives you a BIG bang for your buck. You can visit Þingvelli National Park, considered the birthplace of the country, cook lunch in Laugarvatn Lake, admire Gulfoss waterfall or relax at @secretlagoon hot springs.

Black Sand Beaches near Vik 🌋

Iceland has several gorgeous black sand beaches near Vik. You can stop at Dyrhólaey Cliffs to see puffins and admire the beach from above, or get up close and personal at Reynisfjara Beach.

Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon 🧚🏻

On your way to Iceland’s glacial region Skaftafell, stop at Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon. This is where Justin Bieber filmed a music video and it’s magical green canyons are like no other place you’ve ever seen before**.**

Diamond Beach + Jökulsárlón Lagoon 💎

By far one of the top sites to see in the southern part of Iceland is Diamond Beach. This black sand beach is sprinkled with pieces of icebergs that have washed off from Jökulsárlón. Added bonus, go for a glacial hike in Vatnajokull National Park while you’re here. We did ours with @icelandicmountainguides

5. Diamond Circle ⭕️

Once you head to the north of Iceland you’ll be welcomed with far less crowds, cheaper prices but just as epic scenery and activities. Go whale watching in Husakiv, relax at Mytvan Nature Baths, or at the Beer Spa @bjorbodin ! We loved the north of Iceland and have so much to share from this region.
