Thai sanctuary struggles to save elephants, animals after flash floods <br /><br />Thai authorities and conservationists struggle to rescue over 100 elephants, dozens of pigs and other animals after flash flooding hit the country's northern Chiang Mai province, a senior official said on Oct. 4, 2024. The elephant is Thailand's national animal and a white elephant, a symbol of good fortune, was featured on the Thai flag, at one point in time.
