Modern Symmetric Cryptography Erratum: at min. 15:55, I state that a DES key is 56 bit long. To be more specific, the key is 64 bit long, but 8 of these bits are just used as parity check bits. Only 56 bits of the key actually contribute to the security of the scheme (the effective key length is 56 bits).
