উঠতি গোয়েন্দা সুশীল মামাবাড়ির গ্রামে আসে ছুটি কাটাতে। প্রকৃতির শোভা আর গ্রামবাসীদের আতিথেয়তায় মুগ্ধ হয় সে। কিন্তু শীঘ্রই রহস্যজনকভাবে খুন হন এক ভদ্রলোক। দায়িত্ব এসে পড়ে সুশীলের কাঁধে। ধীরে ধীরে সে বুঝতে পারে সারল্যের আড়ালে লুকিয়ে আছে কিছু ছদ্মবেশ। নানান সূত্র পেয়ে বিভ্রান্ত হতে থাকে সুশীল। সে কি পারবে এই জটিল ধাঁধা ভেদ করতে? উত্তর পাওয়া যাবে বিভূতিভূষণ বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের 'মিসমিদের কবচ' গল্পে।
