বাংলাদেশ বর্ডারের কাছে এক প্রত্যন্ত গ্রামের স্কুলের শিক্ষিকা চন্দ্রলেখা সেন হঠাৎ করে নিখোঁজ হয়ে যায়। তার হবু স্বামী পার্থ সান্যাল চন্দ্রলেখার অন্তর্ধান রহস্য সমাধান করবার ভার দেয় তাদেরই প্রাক্তন কলেজের সহপাঠী আদিত্য মজুমদারকে। আদিত্যর মনে পড়ে কলেজে পড়াকালীন চন্দ্রলেখার অতি-বাম রাজনীতি এবং মাওবাদী গোষ্ঠীর সঙ্গে যোগাযোগের কথা। পার্থর সঙ্গে কথা বলে তাদের পারস্পরিক সম্পর্কের জটিলতাও আঁচ করতে পারে আদিত্য। তদন্তের সূত্র ধরে ক্রমশই এক গভীর চক্রান্তের ঈঙ্গিতের দিকে এগিয়ে যেতে যেতে ব্যক্তিগত জীবনের পথেও এক অপ্রত্যাশিত বাঁকের মুখে পড়তে হয় আদিত্যকে। এই সংশয়ের মুখে পড়ে গোয়েন্দা হিসেবে সে কি নিজের নিরপেক্ষতা বজায় রাখতে পারে? এককালের বন্ধু চন্দ্রলেখাকে অজানা চক্রব্যূহ থেকে উদ্ধার করতেও কি সক্ষম হয় আদিত্য?
