About this video
The Rapid Support Forces’ takeover of El Fasher from the Sudanese army on October 26 has displaced about 90,000 people so far. The paramilitary group has been accused of committing mass atrocities on a scale many equate to genocide. The militia is now ramping up its attacks on North Kordofan, where it has already seized the city of Bara. Meanwhile, the US, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are working on a peace agreement to end the unprecedented violence. Yet, many argue that the so-called Quad’s internal divisions and competing interests make the mediation efforts doomed to fail. With tens of thousands dead, and thousands more in danger, how can the RSF be stopped and what can bring an end to Sudan’s brutal war?
