About this video

The study entitled, Stypher: Embedding file into image using Least
Significant Bit Algorithm with Data Compression using Deflate
Algorithm is an application that help the users to hide and compressed
confidential files into an image. Steganography is the art of hiding
information in ways that prevent detection. Many different carrier file
formats can be used, but digital images are the most popular because of
their frequency on the Internet. The least significant bit based approach
is a popular type of steganographic algorithms in the spatial domain.
The advantage of LSB is its simplicity to embed the bits of the message
directly into the LSB plane of cover-image. Many applications use this
method. One of the problems of embedding files into image is the size
of the carrier file, in which the more files embedded on it, the bigger
the size of the carrier will somehow that will affect the secrecy of the
steganography. Therefore, for the solution of this problem, we used
Deflate Algorithm to compress or double compress files that will make
the carrier image looks a like with the original. Deflate algorithm is the
combination of Huffman coding and LZ77 algorithm. It was tested and
approved using functional and conformance test. A total of 45
respondents consisting of thirty-five (35) End- Users and ten (10) I.T.
Experts were the respondents. The result shows that the usability gained
the highest weighted mean 3.68 which represents as โ€œHighly
Acceptableโ€ because the system bear on the userโ€™s effort for operation
and operation control, while the reliability gained the lowest weighted
mean 3.54 which represents as โ€œHighly Acceptableโ€ because the system
can bear on the frequency of failure by faults done in the system.
