SPOILERS AHEAD**:
After 9 years, Stranger Things has finally come its conclusion. In a 2-hour event, it all ends with Stranger Things Season 5: Chapter 8 - The Rightside Up Does it live up to its hype, I’m going to be breaking down my gripes and praises for this final episode before giving my review of the episode and the season as a whole. If you’ve been keeping up with my latest videos, you know I’ve had MAJOR issues with this season - check out my 2 last rants for Volume 1 & 2.

Lets get this party started and spoiler warning is ahead, going to be breaking it down in detail.

The episode kicks off with the gangs plan finally going into affect which is for the team to have Eleven and Kali go into Vecna’s mind and kill him while the rest of the group make their way into the Abyss to save the children that Vecna is holding hostage with a vacuum to the mouth, before destroying the Upside Down. That’s their plan on paper, is absolutely insane and highly unlikely but I’m not going to go into nitpicking just yet, I think its a very on-brand plan to the show.

Random fake out death for Steve? If you are going to do it, just do it - it felt cheap since they immediately saved him. Should’ve cut away. Stranger Things Finale Explained below:
Dr. Kay is reduced to kind of just looking around in this episode as the show ties up all the lose ends with our main characters. She commands her army to infiltrate the lab Kali, Eleven, and Hopper are in. In that same scene, there is a great moment between Hopper and Eleven as Hopper tries to convince her not to end herself with the upside to stop the cycle from continuing. - her best acting, Harbor is great.

Liked the part where Vecna tricks Hopper into shooting the tank Eleven is in, good moment.
Kali dies - surprising. Pretty cool effects in this scene with Murray last minute bomb
Hopper with the kids is disjointed a little bit, should’ve just ran to the portal instead of waiting in the cave but Vecna looking back at his origin is a great scene, Jamie Campbell Bower is excellent.
Now to the ridiculous, the group walking in the abyss are taking their sweet time, reminiscing and talking like its a normal Tuesday. Dialogue felt corny and the acting is a little rough and the CGI is pretty rough in the some of the shots, with obvious green screen but overall the effects of everything lese are very good-. Not sure they thought their plan through.

Now to the pivotal scene of the Eleven's death as she must make her decision to die with the upside down or find a way to survive in the real world. Never agreed with the logic, she could easily just escape and at worst live a life looking behind her shoulder but at least alive with minimal contact with her friends and family. But she somehow teleports from the truck to the mouth of the upside down - she has one final moment with Mike in her mind, Finn Wolfhard struggles through this scene and seems like he is trying to muster up sadness. Millie Bobby Brown seems authentic at least. Cut back, she decides to die with the Upside down - gutting and emotional scene.
The last 40 minutes is where they are now 18 months later and where they will be for the rest of their lives. Rockin Robby joins us one last time as she says that Hawkins is returning back to normal

Then graduation time. The group is graduating high school now and I found this scene to be touching but random as well. Dustin makes a rebellious speech at the graduation and basically says F the school and principle as everyone cheers, strange choice.

The finale scene is touching and wraps it all together with Mike, Max, Will, Dustin, and Lucas sit at a table playing DnD (Dungeons and Dragons) and it ends with how it begins...before Mike theorizes that Eleven may still be alive? before they wrap it up and series end.
