Storytelling Tip: Avoid Starting with the Point

When people take too long to tell you a story, what's the first thing you think about?

... So umm... what's the point of this story?

People are looking for the point!! And if you take too long, people will tune out. Try to keep to a maximum length of 2-3 minutes when you tell a story.

Even more important as I mention in the video, don't start with the point (unless you're a master storyteller like Steven Spielberg) - otherwise it'll reduce the impact of your stories.
