Time to beat is: 1:35:33. Extremely difficult time compared to the rest. Requires a perfect run or if you're lucky, you may get away with a few slight hits against walls. Anything more though and your speed will be slowed down way too much, costing you maybe a second or two which you don't have room to lose.

I remember doing this back many years ago on PS2 and finding it very stressful so I wasn't exactly looking forward to doing this again. Before I unlocked Darth Maul, I tried beating this time repeatedly with Sebulba Episode 1 but had no luck. I believe both Selbulba Episode 1 and Darth Maul go the same speed but Darth Maul's Podracer has that little bit more better handling which is very important, especially at the end of the track.

I also remember reading guides for this and came across one excellent tip for the ending part and it also helps in the entire race. Instead of always using 'R1' to turn tight corners, let go of 'X' so you don't accelerate and it'll give you that little bit extra help to make a tricky turn. If you're not doing this in the maze at the end, you'll be bashing around all over the place so be sure to practice this!

Another way to get an extra second or two is if you don't try to beat the time until your next lap because you'll be going at a fast speed already as soon as you pass the start line instead of having to start out from not moving. However, if you make a silly mistake or something, you'll have to do that first lap again of course when you restart the race which would make this more time consuming than it needs to be. It's good practice though if you would rather do it that way. The only other hard thing about trying to beat the time on lap one is avoiding the other Podracers so you can quickly overtake them. I always seemed to hit the one you see in the video at the beginning before I manage to get past them all but oh well, sometimes you get lucky and don't.
