Spectacular RC Warbird Takeoff Stuns Crowd at 2025 Oberkulm Event ✈️

This bold takeoff had everyone holding their breath! At the 2025 Warbird Meeting in Oberkulm, Switzerland, this massive RC F4B-4 biplane — a U.S. Navy classic from the interwar period — rumbled to life and surged down the grassy strip, heading alarmingly close to the neighboring field before lifting off just in time. With its authentic radial engine and large-scale build, this warbird is a stunning tribute to aviation history.

The real F4B-4 was the U.S. Navy’s last biplane fighter, serving on aircraft carriers in the early 1930s. Designed for agility and strength, it helped pave the way for the monoplane fighters that followed.

The event itself, hosted by MFV Kulm and featuring IG Warbird as a guest group, gathered passionate builders and pilots dedicated to large-scale flying models of historic aircraft from 1914 to the 1960s — and delivered plenty of engine noise, craftsmanship, and thrills.
