One of Starship’s defining characteristics has always been its immense scale.

However, it appears SpaceX is not finished pushing those boundaries. The V3 design aims for an even larger overall structure. In this version, the booster will extend from 71 meters to 72.3 meters in height, while the Ship will remain at the same 52.1 meters that we see in V2. When combined, the full V3 stack will stand at 124.4 meters tall compared to 123.1 meters in the previous version. This increase is only the beginning, since SpaceX is already planning an even more ambitious leap in size for the future V4 design.
Most of the added height in the booster is expected to come from an upgraded hot staging system that requires more length. SpaceX may also enlarge the fuel tank section to support higher performance, especially as the engines continue to advance. During the stacking of the first V3 booster, B18, observers also noted the introduction of a new fuel transfer tube, which signals further refinement beneath the surface.
