South Korea has been recognized as one of the countries that has done the most in the past year to tackle inequality. <br /> According to developmental charity Oxfam’s Commitment to Reducing Inequality Index, South Korea ranks 56th out of 157 countries. <br />However, the report praised the current Moon Jae-in administration, commenting on its efforts to reduce inequality, such as increasing child benefits and dramatically raising the minimum wage. <br />The index evaluates and ranks governments based on their efforts to reduce the gap between rich and poor in three key policy areas: social spending on public services, progressive taxation and labour rights. <br />
