South Korea has been praised for its significant efforts over the past year to address and reduce inequality, highlighting its commitment to social progress, according to Oxfam.

South Korea has been recognized as one of the countries that has done the most in the past year to tackle inequality. <br /> According to developmental charity Oxfamβs Commitment to Reducing Inequality Index, South Korea ranks 56th out of 157 countries. <br />However, the report praised the current Moon Jae-in administration, commenting on its efforts to reduce inequality, such as increasing child benefits and dramatically raising the minimum wage. <br />The index evaluates and ranks governments based on their efforts to reduce the gap between rich and poor in three key policy areas: social spending on public services, progressive taxation and labour rights. <br />
