Sound of Music Live HD on ITV (2015) 🎶

This rare performance of The Sound of Music was performed LIVE on ITV in the UK on 20 December 2015. It was based more closely on the musical than the film. This upload in the 10th. anniversary year of its broadcast is, I think, the only version on Youtube in full HD. Regrettably, copyright owners have chosen to block this video in the USA - only. It is likely to be monetised by copyright holders in the rest of the world.

Whatever your views on the standard of performance, and many people think it's excellent for a LIVE show, this was a remarkable effort by ITV. The very large cast highlights what live TV at its very best can achieve.

There is a DVD of this performance, though after a decade, it may be hard to find. Being SD, the DVD is inevitably of lower visual quality than the HD version here. Also, some reviewers claim that the DVD is edited to be shorter than the original broadcast as uploaded here.
