When a contact lens slides out of position, some patients cannot see well enough to locate the misplaced contact lens. Did it fall out? Did it get trapped in the fornix?

In this case, after several weeks of mild irritation and foreign body sensation, the patient discontinued using her contact lenses. The symptoms progressed for several days, she developed a mucoid discharge, and she called to be examined. We found several layered contact lenses in the supero-temporal conjunctival fornix.
