Society of Lemmings: Lack of Independent Thought

Most of society is not capable of independent thought. They do not think rationally when they arrive at their opinions. Lemmings do not think. Lemming look around to see what their fellow Lemmings are thinking and then they make what ever is popular their opinion. In REAL societies Lemming act as a stabilizer that enforces long standing cultural norms. In the Tell-a-lie vision age this has subverted the democratic principle. Whatever the Lemmings see on the TV becomes the opinion of the masses. Thus the Lemming can be manipulated to vote against their own interests like the rodents who jump off cliffs to drown in the sea.
