Slipknot - All Hope Is Gone Unboxing
The album was released in two editions and was produced jointly by music producer Dave Fortmann and Slipknot. The results of her work include the decoupled singles Psychosocial and Dead Memories. The former has been nominated for several internationally acclaimed music awards, including the MTV Video Music Award and the Grammy.
All Hope Is Gone deals with a variety of political topics. So the intro ".execute." Represents a response from Corey Taylor to Spiro Theodore Agnew's speech to protesters against the Vietnam War; and the following title "Gematria (The Killing Name)" continues this theme.
According to Taylor, "Wherein Lies Continue" is directed against "any civilization in which the leaders have achieved arrogance in which they think they can speak for the people". In the song "Butcher's Hook" the similarity between the members of the Emo subculture is discussed.
In addition to political content, topics such as anger and obsession are treated; Also on All Hope Is Gone the music industry is criticized. In hindsight, frontman Corey Taylor repeated his statement in this regard; So he blamed the record labels for illegal music downloads on the internet. In the Kerrang magazine, Taylor said, "It would not be a Slipknot album if I did not say my opinion about the music industry."
With All Hope Is Gone the band not only released their studio album with the fewest songs in the standard version, but also the shortest in the band's history. Another record in the band's history is the fact that with the release of All Hope Is Gone, the gap between two studio albums has once again grown by a year.
The "Special Edition" of the album contains three additional bonus titles, a 40-page booklet with photos of the band members and the DVD nine: The Making of All Hope Is Gone, which documents the creation of All Hope Is Gone.
It's the final studio album released by the band to include two longtime members: bassist and founding member Paul Gray, who was found dead in an Iowa hotel on May 24, 2010, almost two years after the release of All Hope Is Gone, and drummer Joey Jordison, who was fired from the group in December 2013.
