Set in the final days of World War II in Finland’s Lapland region, the film follows Aatami Korpi, a former soldier turned lone gold-prospector. After he strikes gold in the wilderness, a retreating Nazi German unit tries to seize his find. What seems like a robbery turns into a brutal, relentless fight for survival. Aatami, embodying the Finnish concept of sisu (an unyielding grit and determination), refuses to be defeated and wages a one-man war.
