On the surface, Sinners is a period vampire flick, but it's true meaning can be found in the intersection of blues music and horror movies.

DANCE WITH THE DEVIL. Sinners (2025) follows the stories of Elijah and Elias Moore -- also known as Smoke and Stack, or The Smokestack Twins -- a twin pair of former gangsters who return to their hometown to open a juke joint, whose opening turns into the defining mistake of their lives. But the lore in Sinners doesn't tell the whole story. Using the hidden articles on the film's official Spotify soundtrack, digging deeper into the music and its meaning and studying the historical time setting -- the parallels between Ryan Coogler's vampires and real historical groups of evil become clear, and we can better understand the timelines of this gunslinging genome pair.
