Twelve percent of people diagnosed with the novel coronavirus COVID-19 develop diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting.<br />Now, UPI reports a new analysis says these symptoms may be a key driver of the spread of the sometimes fatal disease.<br />Researchers from Seattle's Swedish Hospital say that based on 29 different studies, over 40% of people with COVID-19 shed the virus via their feces.<br />The presence of COVID-19 in stool samples may be an indication that "more stringent public health measures may be needed to control the outbreak.<br />That includes changes in wastewater and sewage management and restrictions on the use of public restrooms.
