Russia, China begin massive 'Ocean 2024' joint naval exercises

Russia has launched its ‘Ocean-2024’ naval exercises across the Pacific and Arctic Oceans, as well as the Mediterranean, Caspian, and Baltic Seas.<br /><br />The drills involve over 400 warships, submarines, and support vessels, approximately 120 naval aircraft and helicopters, and more than 90,000 personnel.<br /><br />Ships and aircraft from China’s People’s Liberation Army are also participating.<br /><br />The "Ocean" exercises were first conducted by the USSR Navy in 1970 and took place in 1975, 1977, 1983 and 1985.
