Rushdie says his book is a knife

In a departure from his works of surrealist fiction, Salman Rushdie’s new memoir is a very personal detailing of the 2022 stabbing that nearly killed him.

“The book is called ‘Knife,’ not only because it’s about a knife but because it is a knife,” Rushdie told NPR. “I got myself into a knife fight somehow. And I’d like to have a knife of my own.”
