NOTES.

This was a one-off concert by the time the tour was over. Rod decided to do it special by changing his usual setlist avoiding his setlist standards and trying out other songs wich he rarely do on stage. During his previous dates at Las Vegas he tried a few of them, like What am I gonna do? And You can make me dance, sing or anything. On this show he did Rollin' and tumblin' for the first time, and after the song' success among the fan base he did it live on his next tours and recorded a studio version of it for the album Blood Red Roses.

Rod had 2 more songs ready to play at this concert, but aparently during Rollin' and tumblin' someone told him to cut the set short, and he is clearly seen saying β€œfuck off!” to someone behind the drum riser (those few seconds were cut down from upcoming broadcasts, but we have those seconds here) and then he points that out right before Love is.

The lineup for this specific concert included Special Guest Kerenza Peacock on aditional violin for several songs, Doug Forsdick on banjo for Love is (Doug is guitar technician and has been doing aditional guitar on I dont wanna talk about it live whenever Rod feels like doing the song with three acoustic guitars). Also there is the very special moment when Jim Cregan shows up for the last song, I was only joking.

This was the very first (and only one to my knowledge) Rod concert since his second solo tour where there are no saxophone and/or other brass/wind instruments and players on stage, being this the concert marking the deffinitive absence of Anne King (trumpet) and Katja Rieckermann (Saxophone) from the band. Not even Jimmy Roberts had the call for this specific concert.

The concert was part of a festival wich featured Ward Thomas & The Shires, Shaun Escoffery, Will Young, Kate Rusby, Leona Lewis, The Corrs and Bryan Adams, also a DJ set by Giorgio Moroder while Bryan Adams' stage equipment was retired from the stage and Rod's got in.

Between Giorgio Moroder and Rod, Chris Evans entretained the audience and presented a small documentary on Rod's career. Then James Corden took over the stage' screens to finally introduce Rod into the stage.

Couple days after the concert, the song Angel was banned from Youtube due to copyright restrictions. There have been several re-broadcasts over the years wich the BBC had cut down to only 60 minutes instead of the 80 minutes of actual concert – also the β€œfuck off” moment was replaced with a shot of the audience, even when Rod is not actually heard saying the words, it just can be noticed by reading his lips (and his angry face).

There are bits and bits, 60 minutes long and even a couple of complete versions of this concert on Youtube, but all of them are very low quality on image, sound or even both. This one is the only one wich features the entiretely of the concert with both intro and outro and also on the absolute best quality both on image (A.I. Processed to 60 frames per second and upscale) and remastered audio digitally recorded straight from the FM broadcast.
