Rishi Sunak Calls Horizon Post Office Scandal an ‘Appalling Miscarriage of Justice’ 📰

Mr Sunak was asked by ITV what he thought it says that it has taken an ITV drama to get the Government to “refocus on the issue of the [Horizon] scandal at the Post Office?”<br /><br />He said: “This was an absolutely appalling miscarriage of justice.<br /><br />“These things obviously started a really long time ago, and it’s right that they’re looked at properly.<br /><br />“People were treated absolutely appallingly; it’s wrong and we’ll do everything we can to make it right.<br /><br />“My predecessors started the process of doing that […] People should know that we are on it and want to make things right.”<br /><br />He said that the Justice Secretary Alex Chalk is looking into “speeding up the process”.
