[Reporter: Translated]
Tough game today, but if we talk about your personal innings, it was one of your finest โ I think youโll agree with that. Weโve spoken before about your role as a finisher โ usually you come in with 4โ5 overs left, and you know exactly what to do. But this time you got 25 overs. How did you pace your innings?
[Richa Ghosh: Translated]
Firstly, when I went in to bat, a few wickets had already fallen, so I had to build a partnership. I was discussing with Aman how we could take the innings deep and build from there. Even with Sneh, it was the same โ how to make a partnership and, if we got the chance, to go for our shots.
[Reporter: Translated]
During the Pakistan match, we saw that when Sneh Rana walked in to bat, you were standing by the stairs watching her. This time you got a long time to bat yourself. What was your mindset today? You looked determined to play through the innings.
[Richa Ghosh: Translated]
I never really plan anything. I just wait for my opportunity. Whatever situation I get, I try to adapt and place myself according to that. Thatโs my job. I just think that however many overs are left, Iโll try to play through and finish the match.
[Reporter: Translated]
At one point, the game was completely in your hands โ six wickets left, a high required run rate. In your view, when did Team India lose control of the match? What was the turning point? And this was the third match where the top order struggled โ what do you have to say about that?
[Richa Ghosh: Translated]
First, about the top order โ theyโre all very good players. One match doesnโt define them. Anything can happen in cricket; itโs our job to do our best every time. You canโt always put the blame on the top order.
Secondly, we never gave up on the match โ we played till the last ball and tried to get as many runs as possible. But yes, I think the turning point came in Krantiโs over โ that one six and one four she hit really changed the momentum. Otherwise, everything was under control. We kept playing good shots till the end.

When Australia was chasing, we saw that the spinners created a lot of pressure. But later, as you said, the pace bowlers conceded runs quickly. Similarly, against South Africa, the spinners restricted well, but the pacers gave away runs. Do you think that was due to the conditions, or did they simply bat well? Was there dew or a wet ball involved?
[Richa Ghosh: Translated]
Whatever plans we had, we tried to execute them. The pace bowlers followed their plans too. But credit to the opposition โ they batted really well. The way they hit the ball was outstanding. I think full credit goes to them for playing such good shots.
Nadine De Klerk | ICC WCW25 | South Africa post-match press conference | 9 October '25
[Reporter:]
Yesterday you spoke about your role, which is sort of changed, that you have to take it deep and not like come in and hit from ball one. In the kind of situation that you went in. What was your mentality like? Were there any nerves? We didn't see any. But what was it like for you in your head?
[Nadine de Klerk:]
Yeah, look, I think when me and Chloe were batting together, we just said we wanted to take it deep and we felt like if the two of us were still batting in the back end, we backed ourselves to get 10, 10 runs an over in the last four or five overs. So, yeah, it was just about being really positive, taking a smart option, I guess. And yeah, still trying to put their bowlers under pressure.
[Reporter:]
Obviously you played out a little bit of Kranti and a few overs up front once you - and then that over came in where a six and a four came of Kranti. Like, what were the conversations in between with Chloe in terms of who to attack and who to play out in that situation?
[Nadine de Klerk:]
Yeah, look, I think seam was much easier on this wicket and I think even when we bowled the back end, we felt like it was a pretty good wicket. But I think their spinners bowled really well in that middle phase. So, I think especially in that back 10, we knew they're going to have to bowl a few seamers and that was going to be the much easier option to take on. So, I think, like I said, yeah, we just played smart cricket. Me and Chloe just tried to take it really deep. We knew that if we had to get 40 of the last four and the two of us were still batting that we could get it.
