Revenge of the Mummy: The Ride at Universal Studios Hollywood is an indoor roller coaster that immerses guests in the thrilling world of *The Mummy* film franchise. Set in 1944, riders enter the Museum of Antiquities, where they’re drawn into a fictional film set for a sequel called *Revenge of the Mummy*. The queue sets the stage with authentic movie props, including the Book of the Dead, and hieroglyphics warning of an ancient curse. A video featuring Brendan Fraser hints at a real curse plaguing the production, building suspense.

The ride begins as a slow dark ride through an Egyptian tomb, where the curse of Imhotep awakens. Riders board jeeplike vehicles and are suddenly launched by linear induction motors to speeds of up to 40 mph. The coaster navigates sharp turns, steep drops, and pitch-black sections, with glowing spirits and warrior mummies enhancing the horror. A standout moment involves a swarm of scarab beetles pouring from the walls, followed by an abrupt stop and a disorienting backward plunge through the dark. Imhotep’s menacing laughter echoes as fog and his ghostly image appear, culminating in a dramatic finale with a flash of light and a loud bang.

Housed in the former E.T. Adventure building, the ride features detailed theming, including accurate hieroglyphics and a hidden golden statue commemorating the previous attraction. Lasting about two minutes, it combines roller coaster thrills with immersive dark ride elements, making it a horror-heavy experience distinct from the more humorous versions at Universal Studios Florida and Singapore. A height requirement of 48 inches applies, and loose items must be stored in complimentary lockers.
