Rep. Adam Smith Warns Government Shutdown Disrupts Pentagon Operations & Defense Progress 🚫

Congressman Adam Smith, ranking member of the House Armed Services Committee, warns that the government shutdown is "incredibly disruptive" to Pentagon operations and long-term defense planning.

"Knowing what funds will be available and how they'll come through is crucial," he said, adding that ongoing uncertainty also delays progress on the next National Defense Authorization Act.

Smith made these remarks at an #acfrontpage event at the @AtlanticCouncilUS's headquarters in Washington, DC on Wednesday.
