Hi everyone, welcome to my channel! Today I'm going to talk about Remembrance Day, which is a very important day in Canada's history. Remembrance Day is on November 11th every year, and it's a day when we remember and honour the people who fought and died in wars to protect our freedom and peace. We also thank the people who are still serving in the military today.

One of the ways we show our respect and gratitude is by wearing a poppy on our clothes. Do you know why we wear a poppy? Well, it's because of a poem called "In Flanders Fields", which was written by a Canadian soldier named John McCrae during the First World War. He wrote it after he saw many of his friends die in battle, and he noticed how poppies grew on the graves of the soldiers. The poppy became a symbol of hope and remembrance for the people who sacrificed their lives for us.

So, on Remembrance Day, we wear a poppy and we observe a moment of silence at 11:00 a.m., which is when the First World War ended. We also watch ceremonies where people lay wreaths and play music to honour the fallen heroes. Some of you might have family members or friends who are veterans or who are in the military right now. You can also show them your appreciation by saying thank you or writing them a letter.

Remembrance Day is not only about remembering the past, but also about learning from it and building a better future. We should always be grateful for the freedom and peace we have in Canada, and we should do our best to be kind and respectful to everyone, no matter where they come from or what they believe in. That's how we can make our country and our world a better place for everyone.

I hope you learned something new today, and I hope you have a wonderful Remembrance Day. Don't forget to like, share and subscribe to my channel for more videos like this. Thanks for watching, bye!
