About this video
“Seest thou not that Allah makes the clouds move gently, then joins them together, then makes them into a heap? - then wilt thou see rain issue forth from their midst. And He sends down from the sky mountain masses (of clouds) wherein is hail: He strikes therewith whom He pleases and He turns it away from whom He pleases, the vivid flash of His lightning well-nigh blinds the sight.” (an-Nur, 24/43)
.
.
Some meteorological information like the formation of clouds, lightning flash, rain and hail, which is approved by modern sciences, is emphasized.
.
.
- SNOW is not mentioned directly in the verse but it cannot be thought that the Quran, which explains in detail those meteorological events that are known more than one thousand years after the verse was sent down, is unaware of snow. Yes, snow is indicated indirectly in the verse with the word “hail”.
One of the reasons why the word snow (THALJ) is not used clearly might be the fact that the people of Hejaz, the first addressees of the Quran, did not know much about it. For, it is more impressive to use a clear expression that can be understood by the addressee instead of an ambiguous expression. As a matter of fact, some scientific facts that were not known then are pointed out indirectly – due to a wisdom.
- Snow and hail are like twins. For this reason, it was regarded enough to mention only HAIL, which was known better by the first addressees of the Quran, and SNOW was pointed out indirectly. As it is known.
.
.
“SNOW” is not mentioned in the Quran, which is clear revelation, due to a wisdom – that we do not know – of Allah but it is clearly mentioned in the Sunnah, which is revelation that is not recited and a real interpretation and explanation of the Quran / sound hadith resources.
.
.
We will quote some of those hadiths now:
“O Allah! Wash off my sins with the water of snow and hail.” (Bukhari, Adhan,89; Daawat, 39,44,46; Muslim, 304, Masajid, 147, Dhikr, 48; Abu Dawud, Salah, 131; Tirmidhi, Daawat, 76; Nasai, Taharah, 47-49; Ibn Majah, Iqamah, 1; Dua, 2; Darimi, Salah, 27)
