Quick Hack: Open a Padlock Without a Key 🛠️

How to open a padlock by simply using a hammer. Perhaps you’ve misplaced or lost your keys and need to get that padlock open. For this I’ll be using a couple hammers. This method won’t damage the lock so it’s still reusable and I’ll demonstrate that with the key. #locksmith #hacks #techtips

Tools/Supplies Needed:
-two large hammers

Procedure:
As you can see this is a properly functioning lock.

Using two larger hammers, hit the lock from each side. Sometimes this will work, other times it may not depending on the lock and how it’s hit.

Option number two is placing the hammer on the one side of the lock so it firmly holds the lock in place. The opposite side of the hammer is against the door.

Then give the lock a hit with the other hammer.

And as you can see it pops right open.

Once it’s closed, again I’ll do the same thing. You may need to switch the side that is being hit, this will depend on the lock. This also tends to work on padlocks which are of a lower quality.
